Way to the Water: Quranic Truths, Prophetic Teachings and Sound Hearts

As an educator and policy scientist, Basma I. Abdelgafar is trained to view the world through the lens of governance. As a servant of Allah, she is guided by the conviction that purposefulness, connectivity, and holism are fundamental to all existence. Bridging these principles, she illuminates the path to divine guidance —the Shariah— demonstrating that it demands both knowledge and application of Quranic truths and Prophetic wisdom. For only by cultivating the ayat within us can we nurture sound hearts, and faithfully carry the Trust. She currently serves as Vice President of Policy and Governance at the Maqasid Institute and as a Research Fellow at the Center for Islam in the Contemporary World at Shenandoah University.
